This is a work by the dance company Tierra de Leyendas, portraying the journey of a group of young people navigating life during the turbulent 1980s—a life scarred by violence but also energized by the defiance of the punk movement. These are simple, noble individuals, exhausted by a consumerist society that increasingly excludes them. Through music and dance, they raise their voices, expressing their dissatisfaction and rebellion against a system that offers them little.

Set in a time when low-income families were given the chance to acquire subsidized housing—unfinished homes built on the fragile hope of future growth—the piece highlights the social and cultural dynamics of these spaces. The terraces of these homes became hubs of life: places where families gathered, friends shared traditional barbecues, artistic rehearsals unfolded, and fleeting moments of joy and solidarity took shape. Yet, these same terraces, filled with hope, were also co-opted by criminal groups to surveil, control, and eliminate their perceived enemies.

Through dance and theatricality, this work vividly captures the complex interplay of resilience, creativity, and the stark realities of survival in a society fraught with inequality and violence, where even spaces of refuge are tinged with both dreams and danger.
